Their function-first approach leverages AI, strain engineering, and strain/substrate stacking to create probiotics and postbiotics with efficacy everybody can feel. Current probiotics on the market deliver unpredictable benefits for some people, while not working at all for others. So, Verb put together a world-class team of experts to create ingredients with real efficacy.

As a part of the team at Vermilion, we were tasked with evolving the existing identity to better capture the cutting-edge technology and industry leadership that sets Verb apart. We positioned Verb to better express the radically new kind of active biotics company they are—a vanguard in leading transformational breakthroughs in the vast potential of biome health.

Proud to be radically different. Proven to be remarkably effective.

Overall the evolved identity expresses an unexpected artistry, sophistication, and contemporary simplicity that sets Verb beautifully apart from their competition.

ILLUSTRATION

To differentiate in the highly-technical biotics industry, we decided to use textured and abstract illustration to convey the sophistication and artistry of their unique approach. Monoline icon-style illustrations communicate more technical concepts.

COLOR

We maintained Verb’s original teal and broadened the palette to include modern and idiosyncratic leaf, poppy, and periwinkle hues drawing inspiration from both nature and technology. 

TYPOGRAPHY

A single typeface, Acid Grotesk, is featured. The fluid and dynamic appearance of the typeface design reflects Verb’s vanguard persona and groundbreaking methodology and products. Type is set uniformly in teal, for a sophisticated and memorable approach.

PHOTOGRAPHY

To communicate Verb’s function-first approach, lifestyle photography is layered in Verb-hued monotones and texture, along with illustrations of strains and botanicals in foreground and frame.

Amy presented three different visions which were all highly creative and communicated our brand’s image. After working together for over a year, we now have a new website that distinguishes us in our industry as well as sales collateral and product labels.
